About the guide

Hotels & Rooftop Pools is an independent guide to hotels with a swimming pool on the roof. We cover 790 hotels in 93 cities, and we built it because the question people actually ask, "can I swim up there?", is the one most lists skip.

What you'll find here

Each city has one page that compares every hotel with a confirmed rooftop pool, and each hotel has its own guide: who can swim, the floor, heating, the season, hours, day passes, and where each fact came from. When a hotel doesn't publish something, the page says so.

Who writes it

The guide is researched and written by a small editorial team, credited as "the Hotels & Rooftop Pools editors". We don't invent reviewer personas, and we don't claim to have swum in pools we haven't visited. What you read is what the hotels publish on their own websites and listings, checked and compared, with our opinion on which pool suits whom.

We use software to gather and check facts across many cities, and AI tools help draft the comparisons from those checked facts. Every claim must come from a recorded source; anything only a third party says is marked "unconfirmed".

What we don't do

  • Hotels can't pay to be listed, to rank higher, or to change what we write.
  • We don't accept free stays in exchange for coverage.
  • We don't use stock photos of pools that aren't the hotel's. City photos are the city, credited to their photographers.

Keeping it current

Facts were last checked on November 1, 2026. Pools close for renovation, prices change, and seasons shift, so every page shows the date its facts were checked. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we'll recheck it.
