The pool
Omni's rooftop pool deck is at 700 San Jacinto, with downtown Austin skyline views and Cloud Bar alongside. Chairs and umbrellas are first come, first served, and cabanas can be booked in advance. The hotel doesn't publish the floor.
Our take
Omni publishes the widest pool window of any hotel here, 6am to 10pm, which suits lap-style morning swims before a conference day. Van Zandt's published hours cover food and drink service only, ending at 7pm or 8pm.
The downside is access. The hotel describes non-guest passes and cabanas as seasonal and limited, so a $40 pass isn't guaranteed. Cloud Bar is seasonal too, and no outside food or drink is allowed at the pool.
