Reach for Patio if you want the floor and length before you book. It is a 16-meter infinity pool on the 8th floor, level with the Elephant Skybar, and swimming is for hotel guests.
The pool
The 8th floor of the hotel in Khan Chamkar Mon holds a 16-meter infinity pool, level with the Elephant Skybar. It faces Independence Monument, the King's Statue and Wat Langka Pagoda. The catch is crowding and a shortage of daytime shade.
Our take
Patio is one of three hotels on our list that publish a pool floor, and it adds a length, which Hotel Emion on the 18th floor does not. If you want to know what you are booking before you arrive, this is the better-documented choice.
The downside is shade. Few umbrellas are available during the day, and the pool can be busy, with louder guests making it harder to relax. Phnom Penh highs sit above 30°C even in the cooler months, so a midday swim will be hot and bright.
Good to know
- 8th floor, published by the hotel
- 16 meters long, infinity edge
- Elephant Skybar on the same level
The catches
- Few umbrellas during the day
- Can be busy, with some loud guests
Best forGuests who want an infinity pool of known length, with a bar on the same floor.
Skip it ifYou want shade, a quiet deck at midday, or a pass that doesn't need a room.
Getting in
Swimming is for staying guests. We can find no day pass sold by the hotel, so book a room to use the pool.
Age rules and pool hours aren't published by the hotel. The rooftop restaurant opens 6:30 AM to 11 PM, but those are restaurant hours, not pool hours.
Tips
- Go in the evening. A 5 p.m. start with a 10 p.m. finish is less crowded than midday, and the shortage of umbrellas matters less then.
- Ask at check-in for pool hours, since the hotel publishes only restaurant hours.
Before you go. Check pool hours and non-guest rules with the front desk before you plan a visit.
