Pick this for the highest pool on our list that publishes its floor: the 18th. A $20 ResortPass day pass covers the pool and hot tub, and the listing calls the pool heated, which helps from November to January.
The pool
The pool is on the rooftop, 18th floor, at 11 E 7th St in Tempe. It is a small outdoor pool listed as infinity, with a hot tub, cushioned lounge chairs, day beds and panoramic desert and Tempe skyline views. Shade is limited.
Our take
Kimpton Palomar charges the same $20 and is also listed as heated, but its pool is on the third floor. The Westin sits far higher, with desert views as well as skyline.
The downsides are size and comfort. The pool is small, there is nowhere on site to shower or change, and shade is limited. Bring your own cover-up and plan a short visit, not a full day.
