The easiest way onto a Barcelona rooftop pool without a room. The 7th-floor pool at the 173 Rooftop Terrace sells day passes to non-guests on Hoteltreats, though no price is shown and the pool shuts mid-February to end of March.

The pool

The outdoor pool is on the 173 Rooftop Terrace, 7th floor, in Sants-Montjuïc. It comes with a solarium and sun loungers, and the terrace has panoramic city views plus a cocktail bar with music. The catch is the annual closure from mid-February to end of March.

Our take

Only two hotels on our list sell day passes, and this is one of them. SLS Barcelona is the other. Fifteen hotels on our list are guests-only, among them Seventy and Grand Hotel Central, and another 15 don't publish their rules. If you aren't sleeping here, this is the pool to price first.

The downside is the missing price. The Hoteltreats listing is dated September 2023 and shows no day-pass cost, so check the pass is still on sale before you plan around it. The hotel doesn't say whether room guests have pool access, so treat this as a day-pass pool.

Getting in

A day pass, sold on Hoteltreats, is the way in without a room. The listing doesn't show a price, and the hotel doesn't say how many passes it releases or which days they cover.

The hotel doesn't publish rules for staying guests, so we can't say how they get in. Age rules and opening hours aren't published either.

Day pass. Passes are sold on hoteltreats.com; check the price for your date there. See passes.

Tips

  • Skip mid-February to end of March: the pool is closed for those weeks every year.
  • Check the current price and dates on Hoteltreats before you travel, since the listing we found is from September 2023.

Before you go. Check that the day pass is still on sale on Hoteltreats and what it costs, because the listing gives no price.
