When to swim on a Torremolinos rooftop

Plan a rooftop swim for June to August, the best three months in Torremolinos. Meliá Costa del Sol runs its terrace from May to September, so it also covers the edges of summer. Leonardo describes its three pools as seasonal.

None of the five hotels publishes a heated rooftop pool, so winter swims are a gamble. Average highs are 20.5°C in November, 18.3°C in December and 17.7°C in January. We have no event weeks on file for the city.

Hotels you might expect here, and why they're not

These Torremolinos hotels come up in searches for rooftop pools, but no source places their pool on the roof.

  • Hotel La Barracuda. The hotel's site describes a rooftop bar (Barracuda Rooftop) open to non-guests, but no source says the swimming pool is on the roof. The pool is only mentioned as the "bar piscina" and "piscina del hotel", with no location.
  • Occidental Torremolinos Playa. Two outdoor pools are described as seafront pools, not on the roof or a top-floor terrace. The only pool-location source is a third-party ranking page, which says they are not rooftop pools. The hotel's own site mentions 2 pools but no roof.
  • Hotel Costa Málaga Torremolinos (Adults Recommended) by Pierre et Vacances. The hotel's own site describes only an outdoor pool ("piscina exterior") with no roof or top-floor placement. The rooftop bar in the blog is at AluaSoul Costa Málaga, a different hotel.
  • Sol Torremolinos - Don Pablo. The hotel's own site describes outdoor pools "set in gardens and alongside the sea" plus a heated indoor pool. No source places a pool on the roof or a top-floor terrace.
  • Hotel Los Jazmines. The hotel's own site describes an outdoor pool beside ground-floor rooms and gardens. No source mentions a roof or top-floor pool.
  • Hotel Riu Costa del Sol. The hotel's site describes several outdoor pools, a pool bar and a solarium terrace, but no source places a pool on the roof or a top floor. The Google Maps listing has no pool information.
  • Hotel MS Aguamarina Costa del Sol. The hotel's own site places a jacuzzi on the roof terrace, not a swimming pool. Its outdoor pool and heated indoor spa pool are not stated to be on the roof. No roof pool is confirmed.
  • Sol Príncipe. No source says a pool is on the roof or a top-floor terrace. The hotel's site describes ground-level lake, outdoor and heated pools with beach access, so this is not a rooftop pool.
