The pool
At 788 Richards St, downtown, the hotel has a 15-metre (50-foot) outdoor lap pool on the 5th floor, heated and open year-round, with a Jacuzzi alongside. Who besides guests can use it isn't published by the hotel.
Our take
Rooftop pools in Vancouver mostly suit the three best months, June to August. L'Hermitage is the pick for November to January, when highs run 6.6 to 9.3 degrees Celsius, since the hotel says the heated pool stays open year-round.
Access is the weak spot. Non-guest swimming isn't addressed by the hotel, and no day pass is sold. Fairmont Pacific Rim and Pan Pacific have more deck to lounge on, but this is the only pool here with a stated length for lap swimmers.

Tips
