June to August is the best stretch for a rooftop swim in Atlanta. Two events fall at the end of that window: the National Book Club Conference (July 30 to August 1) and the Atlanta Underground Film Festival (August 6 to 8). Both dates are projected, so book a day pass or a room early for those days.
From November the average high is 17.8°C, dropping to 13.4°C in December and 12.2°C in January. Nobu Hotel Atlanta and Forth Hotel are heated and stay open all year, though Forth is guests only. Epicurean Atlanta and Scout Living PCM are also heated, but neither publishes a season. Spring fills hotels too: Atlanta Marathon Weekend (March 6 to 7, 2027), the Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park (April 9 to 11) and the Inman Park Festival (April 25).
Average daily highs: November 64°F (18°C), December 56°F (13°C), January 54°F (12°C). The warmest stretch for swimming is Jun–Aug.
Where to stay: Atlanta's rooftop pools by area
Midtown
Midtown is the area to look at first: a little over a mile separates its hotels from the Georgia World Congress Center, Mercedes Benz Stadium, State Farm Arena and Georgia Aquarium. The pools here belong to Epicurean Atlanta, The Starling and Moxy Midtown.
Buckhead
A forum post names Buckhead among four parts of town visitors should consider, alongside Downtown, Midtown and Decatur. Nobu Hotel Atlanta is the listed pool here.
Downtown Atlanta
A forum post says staying downtown may be convenient for visitors. Hotel Phoenix and Crowne Plaza Midtown are the listed pools here, and neither publishes a floor.
Cheaper ways to swim in Atlanta
Public pools are the cheapest way to swim in Atlanta: one listing puts the daily rate at $8 for adults. The City of Atlanta runs Grant Park Pool outdoors, with late-July hours of 12:30 to 7pm, though no admission price is published. Neither is on a roof.
Dive Into Atlanta Indoor Pools and Water Parks: $8 adults (daily rate). The listed daily rate is $8 for adults and $7 for ages 2-17, with various pass options. Sources do not name a single pool location.
Grant Park Pool. A City of Atlanta outdoor pool. The sources give its opening hours for late July (12:30 to 7pm) but no admission price.
Chastain Park Pool: Not stated for adults; a Reddit commenter mentions $5 from 1-5pm on weekdays (unlabeled). A Reddit user says it is free on weekdays from 11 to 1, and the source calls it 'alright'. The price is not specified as adult pricing.
Hotels you might expect here, and why they're not
These hotels come up often in Atlanta searches, but we found no rooftop pool at any of them.
Kimpton Sylvan Atlanta - Buckhead. The hotel's own pages describe an outdoor pool alongside botanical gardens, and no source places the pool on the roof. The St. Julep rooftop bar is mentioned without a pool.
Bellyard, West Midtown Atlanta, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. Two independent sources say the hotel has no pool: Trivago says it "doesn't offer pool areas", and Roomer Travel says "there is no pool." No rooftop pool is confirmed. The rooftop Drawbar is a bar/terrace without a pool.
Hotel Clermont Atlanta, by Oliver. No source mentions a swimming pool at Hotel Clermont. The sources describe only a rooftop bar with skyline views, so this is not a rooftop pool.
Renaissance Atlanta Midtown. No rooftop pool found. The TripAdvisor FAQ says the hotel has no pool, and the only rooftop mention is a bar. One Google Travel snippet says "a pool" but gives no location, so it can't confirm a rooftop pool. Hotel's own pages were not among the sources.
Courtland Grand Hotel. The hotel's own pages describe a heated pool in the courtyard under a glass dome or retractable roof, not on the roof or a top-floor terrace. No source places the pool on the roof.
The Ritz-Carlton, Atlanta. None of the four hotel and listing sources mention a swimming pool of any kind, so no rooftop pool can be confirmed.
Loews Atlanta Hotel. No source mentions a swimming pool at this hotel. The only roof-level item is a 14th-floor outdoor event terrace, and the spa lists a sauna, steam room and hammam, not a pool.
The Westin Buckhead Atlanta. Two third-party pages describe only an indoor pool, and no source places a pool on the roof or a top-floor terrace. The Yelp result is titled "Westin Rooftop" but that is a search query label, not a claim about this hotel's pool.
